There are so many jingle bells

It's almost Christmas, almost time to fly back to Texas and see everyone along with my good old friend: the sun. I enjoy actually having seasons, but I miss the sun sometimes.

On the upside, I'm starting to build a little life here. I like the people in my office, I go to a dance class on Mondays, I volunteer with my firm to mentor high school kids and Melinda and I have made a couple of friends. It's still a shadow of a college social life, but it's getting better. Mindy and I went to a show on Sunday and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly until Ted Leo and the Pharmacists came on and the singer was like, great we still have 25 minutes left in the set, we looked at each other knowingly and left. Cold War Kids and Junior Boys were lovely though.

At Melinda's office party on Saturday we met a drunk man in a red Chinese suit. He likened himself to a 'fucking Chinese Santa Claus' complete with fu manchu and 'fucking Jackie Chan' without the karate skills. He also complained that his silk slippers had no arch support and really hurt his feet. There is nothing funnier than a gay Chinese man in a red suit making fake karate noises and movements at his partner because the partner was complaining about the lack of starch in his clothes. Hiiiii-yaaaa!
