Workday Boredom

It's gorgeous outside, sunny and cool with a nice breeze and I'm at my desk with very little to do. At least I have dance class tonight and that usually elevates my mood quite a bit. My mom sent me her itinerary for a summertime visit. She's actually gonna be here when I do my little performance thing, which I realize is quite a bit dorky, but it makes me happy. This past weekend was Pride weekend; so I went to my very first gay pride parade and I didn't even get to go with any of the boys. A couple of them were out of town and we ended up just not getting together with the others. So there we were, three straight people at the pride parade, it just didn't feel right somehow. I loved how it was treated like Thanksgiving for the gay community. Everyone was hugging at the end saying "happy parade" or "happy pride" and I was just glad I was in Seattle and saw only one super-christian discriminator with a huge sign. Afterwards Melinda and I just drove around looking for something to do. We ended up at Golden Gardens and were so excited to see a real beach in Seattle, though it is, of course, still very cold. I think we must go there for a BBQ sometime soon. After the park we got some pizza and cupcakes and did some shopping in Ballard. There was a short little hail storm while we were shopping and general fits of crazy rain interspersed with sunshine, it was very odd. We went to a BBQ at Tania's on Saturday night and I turned pineapple into charcoal like the cool kid that I am, but at least the portobello's turned out pretty good. Still adjusting to life with a boy in it rather than just on the phone and I think in the end it will all work out well. But, with anything, there are growing pains.
